Qanon Told us Exactly how John Perry Barlow Would Die
After weeks of wracking my brain with research, I have decided my first post in relation to Qanon should relate to John Perry Barlow, how Qanon predicted his death, how deeply he was entrenched in American culture, and why Q has deemed him important enough to be brought up in 16 separate drops.
On January 27, 2018, Qanon first brought up Barlow in the post 628 below.
This post (628) appears to be some sort of taunt to “@Snowden,” the specific way that Q refers to prolific NSA leaker, Edward Snowden. Q tells Snowden that “The clock is ticking,” and mentions several other topics that I will address in due time.
The very next two Q posts reference one of the founders of SecureDrop, James Dolan, being killed by the CIA, and setting the truth free. I intend to expose exactly what truth Q is getting at in these posts, but first we need to explore who Barlow is, as well as his relation to the late James Dolan/SecureDrop.
The same day as Q’s first mention of Barlow, in post 634, Q also said “Heart attacks can be deadly.” Barlow died just 11 days later. The reported cause of Barlow’s death? Heart attack. (Please note that all claims in this post are supported by official sources. You can click on any of the blue words in this post to see the source.)
This phrase, “Heart attacks can be deadly,” was repeated by Q in post 677 after Barlow’s death was reported. Post 677 was Q responding to another anon pointing out that Barlow had died. It’s also important to note that the anon Q responded to in this post linked to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) post about his death. Barlow was the founder of EFF.
Note that on January 27, 2018, Q brought up Barlow, and also brought up death by heart attack. Barlow died of a heart attack 11 days later.
Over a year later, in March of 2019, Q seems to suggest that Snowden is now a liablity, as Barlow was. This article will aim to clarify just why, and to whom, Barlow became a liability.
As Q said, “Reconcile.”
I have become entrenched in research regarding Barlow, but this was not my intention when I originally started. I was more interested in Snowden. I wrote extensively about internet censorship during my college years, and have even presented my findings at a conference called All Politics Is Local. I have always revered Snowden as a hero, frequently citing that I trust Apple over Microsoft because Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple called Snowden a hero, unlike Microsoft’s Bill Gates. However, I have begun to question everything about Snowden because Q has repeatedly pointed to the idea that Snowden was a CIA “plant” long before his tenure with the NSA (much more on this later.) This made me dig further into the connections of Barlow.
After speaking with a friend – I think it’s important to clarify the conditions under which Q predicted Barlow’s death. This is explained in post 722.
Q clarifies here that they didn’t make statements about Barlow to affirm credibility, we have countless examples that assert credibility anyways.
Q asks us why they are still posting if they had given hints to Barlow’s death, and pointed out that there should have been an FBI investigation if they knew exactly how he would die. They then go on to rhetorically ask if they are impossible to locate.
In this post, Q also speaks directly to the (Clown) CIA. He is essentially taunting them, as he frequently does with adversaries. Q is hinting that due to a recent takedown, they no longer hold the leverage they once did. They finish the post by saying, “This is not a game.” Clearly, if they knew about an assassination of CIA asset such as Barlow, the stakes are very high.
How did Barlow die? This one will sound very far out there, but it is WELL-documented that the CIA has a “heart attack gun,” which is talked about here on Military.com.
Now we need to look further into Barlow.
On January 9, 2018, before Q had ever mentioned Barlow, Steve Outtrim of Muckrock News filed a Freedom of Information Act request on “All records on John Perry Barlow held by the CIA, including contracts, emails, meetings attended, files and notes.”
On September 10, 2018, long after Q’s mention of Barlow and his death, the CIA finally responded to Outtrim’s FOIA Request (below).

The CIA’s response claimed, “We did not locate any responsive records that would reveal an openly acknowledged CIA affiliation with the subject.” In reference to classified records, they also said that they can “neither confirm nor deny having such records.”
The CIA is denying any involvement with Barlow.
Barlow’s own writing describes a vast relationship with the CIA, and even connections to “former” agent Robert Steele, who was responsible for the now debunked Trump-Russia dossier.
The CIA’s response is easily discredited in this matter. Barlow’s own writing in Forbes suggests a modest relationship with the CIA, at a minimum. In this article, Barlow spoke frequently of the incompetence of America’s intelligence agencies, something I have previously written about here.
In relation to the American intelligence system, Barlow wrote “I was introduced to this world by a former spy named Robert Steele, who called me in the fall of 1992 and asked me to speak at a Washington conference that would be ‘attended primarily by intelligence professionals.’” Barlow also wrote, “Steele’s conference was attended by about 600 members of the American and European intelligence establishment, including many of its senior leaders.”
The CIA’s open source coordinator, Paul Wellner, invited Barlow to the CIA Headquarters after this conference. Barlow continued writing, “in early 1993, I passed through the gates of the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.”
Think about this. If Barlow is writing in Forbes about how he not only spoke at a conference in front of 600 intelligence officers (including many senior leaders), but also how he entered the CIA headquarters only months later, how laughable is it that the FOIA request filed by by Outtrim resulted in the CIA denying any “openly acknowledged CIA affiliation” with Barlow?
Further, Barlow wrote, “they were delighted when I returned later… They sealed us into an electronically impenetrable room to discuss the radical possibility that a good first step in lifting their blackout would be for the CIA to put up a Web site… They put up a Web site, and I started to get email from people @cia.gov.”
Now that we’ve established a strong connection between Barlow and the CIA, let’s back up and take a wider look at who exactly John Perry Barlow is.

Let’s review and add some points for recognition. Barlow was a former heroin addict and cocaine dealer, who rose to such status that he:
- Taught JFK Jr how to fly
- Wrote 57 songs for Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir
- Went to Harvard University
- Wrote screenplays and even acted in Hollywood movies
- Used his foundation to support Wikileaks
- Sponsored Steve Jackson Games in a successful lawsuit against the Secret Service
- Served as Chairman of Sublette County Republican Party, becoming the Wyoming Campaign Coordinator for Dick Cheney’s 1979 Congressional run
- Was named “One of the 25 Most Influential People in Financial Services,” even though he isn’t in financial services
- Managed to secretly record a meeting with the CIA
- Told the CIA what to do, became comfortable traveling on Air Force II, and spent time at the White House
- Further research will show relation to the son of John Lennon, Edward Snowden, Steve Jobs, and many more cultural icons.
Connections are often valuable with people of such elevated status.
As previously stated, Barlow was connected to Steele (CIA), who leaked the false Trump-Russia dossier that has dominated headlines for the last few years. I’d like to highlight some other notorious people Barlow has been heavily associated with.
Barlow’s EFF once helped win a lawsuit against the Secret Service, sponsoring Steve Jackson Games in the lawsuit, which is described by the New York Times as a “small book publisher.” This is pretty far from the truth. From my history (owning Steve Jackson products), I immediately recognized Steve Jackson Games as the creators of the “Illuminati Card Game,” created in the 90s. This card game has been shown to have predicted events such as 9/11, the Boston Marathon Bombing, the Aurora theatre “Batman” shooting, and even the Las Vegas Shooting. A simple analysis of Steve Jackson Games should reveal that they aren’t some simple role-playing game company as is widely reported. After all, they were initially raided in relation to an online document leak about the 9-1-1 system on their servers.
According to Barlow, he also had a profound effect on one of the world’s most notable “hacktivists,” Aaron Swartz. Barlow went to speak at Swartz’s middle school when Swartz was only 12 years old. Barlow has claimed that Swartz’s father told him that Aaron came home a changed person after this day. Swartz grew up to become a household name with activists, becoming akin to Julian Assange and Edward Snowden.
Perhaps, Swartz’s most notable accomplishment is his creation of DeadDrop. DeadDrop, renamed as SecureDrop, was co-created by James Dolan and Kevin Poulsen. SecureDrop quickly became one of the most useful tools for whistleblowers and journalists, allowing whistleblowers to anonymously drop sensitive documents to journalists or news organizations, and even communicate with them while maintaining anonymity. This software was a truly revolutionary tool to combat corruption in the 21st century. Swartz was also named a Reddit co-founder. Unfortunately, Swartz died at 26, reportedly by suicide.
(Side note: Q has always maintained that misspellings matter, and there may be some worthwhile digging into how he spelled Poulsen as “Paulsen” in post 770.)
There are numerous conspiracy theories about Swartz’s death, but Swartz isn’t the only SecureDrop founder to have died by suicide. Shortly after Swartz, co-founder Dolan committed suicide. Both reportedly died by the hanging, less than a month apart.
After the deaths of two out three of SecureDrops founders, the last remaining founder, Kevin Poulsen, turned over ownership of SecureDrop to the Freedom of the Press Foundation, as noted in Q post 770 (partial below).
Q mentions the above information, and then goes on to bring up Barlow being killed (187 is a code for this) after Q’s “drop” about Barlow. Q then directs their attention to Snowden, telling him that he is now a “liablity.”
A liability to whom?
Unfortunately, it looks like Swartz’s ultimate tool for whistleblower protection has been turned against the very people it was meant to protect. Here, we will begin to analyze Q’s harassment of Snowden, along with more of Barlow’s connections to the CIA.
Q post 770 (above, February 15, 2018), tells us that Snowden is now a liability as Barlow was. In post 760, on the same day, Q told us that Swartz’s SecureDrop is now used to send out the 4am narrative. This “4am narrative” is why you see media doing the exact same thing at the same time. This is why they all wear masks on camera, but not off, as seen by CNN here and MSNBC here . This is why you can see videos of local affiliates to mainstream media saying the exact same thing (IE: “This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.”
As previously mentioned, SecureDrop’s last remaining founder, Poulsen, handed the application over to Freedom of the Press Foundation. Snowden, “former” CIA agent, was named the President of this foundation in 2016.
Before Snowden, Daniel Ellsberg, who released the Pentagon Papers, was President of FOTPF. Much like Snowden and similar figures such as Barlow and Greenwald, I had long supported the release of the Pentagon Papers. Everything is not as it seems, however. In 1992, L. Fletcher Prouty wrote about how, “From the beginning, the Pentagon Papers were a compilation of documents designed to paint President John F. Kennedy as the villain of the story, and to shield the role of the CIA.”
Again, FOTPF and it’s leaders are protecting the CIA and attempting to damage the reputation of those who wanted to expose the CIA, such as John F. Kennedy, who once said he wanted to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”
I’ve lightly covered how CIA assets can become a liability, and become likely to be suicided. This happened to Barlow, and Q is taunting Snowden that it could now happen to him.
Now where have we read about ex-director Colby recently? He was the CIA director who suspiciously drowned and was found near the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland in 1996. The suspicion is detailed here, and I’d like to note I’ve gathered a lot of this information from Ronald Thompson West. We recently heard a similar story when it was reported that Maeve Kennedy had drowned and recovered in the same area. Just last year, Maeve Kennedy had a public disagreement with her brother Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about his outspoken opinion on vaccines.
Q has frequently alluded to an ongoing war between the NSA and the CIA. It is commonly accepted that the entire Qanon operation is based on using the NSA to turn spying tools against those who have used them against the American public.
How could a war between the NSA and CIA be facilitated?
Ellsburg, Snowden, and Barlow, whom were all heads of the FOTPF, have all attacked the NSA or other enemies of the CIA. They all claim to be against surveillance, but seem to be okay with it when it benefits their allies. Below you can see several retweets from Barlow, CIA asset, going on a tirade against the NSA.
Snowden, who was working for the CIA at the time, openly admitted that he only took the NSA contract in order to leak information about the NSA’s PRISM surveillance program.
In Q post 628 (at the beginning of this article), Q was taunting Snowden and mentioned a “contractor.” The contractor that Snowden was working for during his sabotage of the NSA was Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) , which was called “the World’s Most Profitable Spy Organization,” by Bloomberg News. BAH has contractors in many major organizations throughout the world, and has been called “a significant part of the constantly revolving door between the US intelligence establishment and the private sector,” by the Guardian.
Now who is relevant today that was in a leadership role at BAH? Obama-appointed former head of the NSA, James Clapper was once the Vice-President of BAH. He is currently a major player in the “Obamagate” investigations into how our intelligence agencies broke the law to illegally surveil a duly elected president. Clapper also lied to Congress about spying on American citizens.
Anybody else? John Brennan, former CIA director, also worked for BAH – and he is also a major player in the unconstitutional spying during Obamagate.
BAH also has close ties to the Clinton Foundation.
Another notable figure that worked for BAH is Dov Zakheim. Adam Curry, aka “The Podfather,” the inventor of podcasting, reports the following on Zakheim:
- 1993 – His company, System Planning Corporation, had a subsidiary called Tridata Corporation, which was the company that “oversaw” the investigation of the 1993 WTC bombing
- 2000 – Part of the neocon Project for a New American Century, he is co-author of “Rebuilding America’s Defenses,” in which he is credited with the infamous line, “… some catastrophic and catalyzing event “like a new Pearl Harbor.”
- 2001 – He is appointed Comptroller of the Pentagon, in which $2.3 trillion promptly goes “missing”
- 2001 – Attack on 9/11 occurs; some people are suspicious of his connections, since his company, SPC, is involved in flight systems capable of remote controlling aircraft, and because he was the guy who leased 32 Boeing 767 aircraft to McDill Air Force Base (2 of the 9/11 aircraft were 767’s), and McDill is close to Elgin AFB, which was the location that was to be used if Operation Northwoods had gone live
- 2004 – Goes to work for Booz Allen Hamilton.
Curry also reports that BAH (world’s most profitable spy organization) is owned by The Carlyle Group, and that George W. Bush was “instrumental in being the ‘go-between’ for Carlyle/Bin Laden.”
It appears that this secretive, spy-employing BAH group has played a key role in the war between the NSA. They played a role in 9/11, sent Snowden in with the specific mission of exposing the NSA PRISM program, and were led by Obama-appointed Clapper.
Clapper (DNI), Zakheim (9/11 involved), and Barlow all had close ties to the Clintons. So what does this have to with a war between the NSA and CIA?
In Barlow’s Forbes article, he stated, “one highly placed White House staffer told me that their incomprehensible crypto policies arose from being ‘afraid of the NSA.'” That was all the way back in 2002. Now, we’ve seen an unprecedented political battle between the Clintons and Trump as they both hurl accusations at each other over the Clinton emails and the debunked Russia investigation. The Clintons are afraid of the NSA, and have used the FBI/CIA against Trump, which should be abundantly clear with the recent revelations from Rod Rosenstein’s testimony.
These connections get deeper the more you look. In 2011, Anonymous and Lulzsec hacked into BAH’s server and accused them of working with HBGary on a project to manipulate social media. BAH and HBGary worked together to create “software to simplify the process of pretending to be several people at once online, in order simulate widespread support for a point of view — astroturfing automation software.”
Let’s get that straight. BAH (the world’s most profitable spy organization), that employed Snowden on his literal mission to expose the NSA’s PRISM program, that was once led by former NSA Director Clapper, that also employed the 9/11 war criminal Zakheim, worked on creating troll farms. Aren’t troll farms what the Clinton camp accused Russia and Trump of conspiring on? Define projection.
Now where did we start again? Let’s return back to Q post 628.

- References SecureDrop (whistleblower protection tool), of which two creators were “suicided” and is now controlled by FOTPF, under Snowden

- Finishes off saying NOBODY IS SAFE
Snowden openly admits that he was a CIA agent, employed by BAH and went into the NSA to expose PRISM, and now controls the “whistleblower protection” tool SecureDrop.
People like me grew up revering Snowden as a hero, but what I believe Q is getting at here, is that things are much more corrupt than we thought. If a CIA agent has co-opted control of the ultimate-whistleblower protection tool, it essentially serves as a “honeypot,” something that pulls potential whistleblowers in and leads them to believe they are safe – all while they are playing right into the hands of the enemy.
It is also my belief that the “4am narrative” is sent out through SecureDrop to privately inform media assets what they should be focusing on that day, so they present a unified message. This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.
The Final Kicker.
In posts 3022, Q told us to connect the dots between Snowden, the “Shadow Brokers,” Russia, and the “Spooks” or CIA.
Q then moved on in post 3023 to ask who was in charge of the CIA during Snowden’s PRISM leaks. They mention Barlow again, and ask how they knew “prior to” his death. How did they know? They had now replaced former CIA Director Brennan – the same Brennan who was involved in illegal spying and lied to Congress about it. The same Brennan who worked with BAH at the same time as Snowden. The same Brennan that was in charge of the CIA when Special Agent Snowden, who admitted to being a spy who worked at fake jobs under fake names, was sent on his mission to delegitimize the NSA. Brennan called the shots here.
Brennan likely instructed Snowden to infiltrate the NSA, and they used their mutual employer, BAH, to do so.
As Q frequently says, “We have everything.”
